When you are adding using User > Add New you need to use the exact username and email address attached to that user. So you need to go to User > Author and User to check what username & email address it is listing -- then use those.

After creating blogs for all my students (using the gmail method), I then had them change their email addresses (from the weird gmail + addresses) to their own personal email addresses. That way, I figured, when they add users to their individual blogs, the request-to-add emails will not all go to that one original gmail account. (It wasn't easy, but finally all of the addresses have been changed to personal addresses.)
Now, however, we're having trouble adding all the classmates to one another's blogs. After clicking on "Users," and then "Add User," and typing in a fellow classmate's username and email address and clicking the "Add User" button, the following error message appears:
"Sorry, that username already exists!"
My thinking is, "Of course that username exists; I just created it a few days ago."
Why is Edublogs not sending a confirmation email to the student who is being invited to join the blog? Why does that error message appear instead? I realize that with the free version, a blog owner cannot add multiple users at one time, but I can't see how to tell my students to add even one other student at a time.
All the students have their own blogs and usernames. However, they don't appear to be able to add each other to their blogs.
What am I missing?
Thanks.
