until there is something better, I suggest that people simply add an entry here as suggested

...folks could still contribute 10 lines or so about what their blog is about in this topic. It would serve as a table of contents for all the edublogses until something fancier comes along.

And for after a year's worth of experimenting, folks could share what they found worked and what they wish they knew before starting at Lessons Learned

The focus here is on using WP Multi-user blogging platform in education (broadly perceived). I particularly showcase http://edublogs.org and its sororal blogs at uniblogs.org, eslblogs.org, learnerblogs.org

My (new) blog is: http://amercerportfolio.edublogs.org/

Having been at this all year, I am happy with my Edublog, which I now use as a home base for a class of English 11 students: http://sheehy.edublogs.org/

I am finding lately that a key to raising the bar with students' work is the old faithful method of showing them each other's writing (here, here, Bandura and the models!). Thus, a del.icio.us feed to articles I've tagged as notable is fed right into the top of the blog page, so students can click quickly and read the best work from their classmates. Thanks for those widgets, James!

6th Grade Math and Reading.
Also some random stuff I found interesting.

Directory of all blogses Maybe. But there are also other posts included in the search results (and not all posts from each blog)

Go to http://www.Google.com and type in one of the the following

site:*.edublogs.org [all 15,600 results edublogs.org]

site:*.uniblogs.org [652 blogs]

site:*.eslblogs.org [139 blogs]

site:*.learnerblogs.org [2740 blogs]

site:*.edublogs.org category=xxxxxxx [searches only for those categories of posts]

site:*.edublogs.org searchterm [searches for the term anywhere]

Nice work! Although we're actually at over 42,000 blogs at edublogs.org alone at the moment (gulp!) So maybe google hasn't picked up them all / a lot of people are taking the privacy option.

My blog at http://kclb.edublogs.org is about locating free or inexpensive resources for educators and librarians. I am a librarian at a community college that specializes in technical areas as: medical, pharmacy, general business, computer technology, cosmotology and esthetics. I have located many free resources and I would like to share this information with other educators and librarians. I am always looking for printed publications that can be used in the library or by the instuctors. Online resources are wonderful also but we wish to have the printed material in some of the areas. Thank you. kclb

Hi, I have just started my blog at http://rsteacher.edublogs.org it is mainly for teachers of Religious Education and will contain lots of resources etc. But there is also a whiteboard section which currently has almost 50 SMARTboard files which are not RS soecific and are suitable for secondary school.

If anyone has any comment etc I would be glad to hear them ; also any resources you think would be suitable would be suitable for the site would be great.
Thanks you, Jackie Blackman

Hi! I'm a librarian at a PreK-8 elementary school and I thought that a good summer project for me was to start a book review blog.

I have posted a review myself, but all the other content has been posted by students who have come in during my extended summer hours.

I'm trying to gradually learn more about what I'm doing and I'd certainly love to get some comments and feedback!

Check me and my kiddos out at http://lgeslibrary.edublogs.org

I have 2 blogs that I've been using with A-level English students in the UK.

One is on Gothic literature, at http://thegothic.edublogs.org

The other is on monologues, at http://themonologue.edublogs.org

I'm happiest with the Gothic one, as I think the topic has more scope. There are links to student blogs on both sites too, so you can see how they've been responding. My biggest challenge has been trying to get them to comment in a useful way on each others' blogs.

My own blog is at http://tware.edublogs.org - leave me a comment there to let me know what you think of the 2 other blogs! All feedback welcome!

Very cool, you like the Mandigo theme right :)

Well spotted! I like the blue one best - then the red one seemed perfect for the Gothic - and then I was hooked!

I've just started blogging about my adult learners' blog project -- rather self referential that, I feel!

Anyway I'm finding it quite interesting myself so for anyone else also interested the site is at:

http://blogtoteach.edublogs.org

I'm sort of playing catchup at the moment posting about things I've already done, but plan to keep it up to date weekly as the project progresses.

Very cool - looking forward to following your journey! We'll make you the feature blog soon too :)

Hey everyone! I've started two blogs this school year! (whew!). I've started a personal one with photos, poetry, excellent educational links, web 2.0 tools to use in the classroom as well as some reflections from teaching and my perusals of other blogs. The blog is at:

http://ihancock.edublogs.org

My other site is a class blog where I can going to try to incorporate more technology; both on my part and on the part of the students using things like voicethreads, bubbl.us and other web 2.0 tools. That site is at:

http://mrhclassblog.edublogs.org

Come take a look!

Thanks
Ian

Just to add on here ....

I am looking for blogs from educators working with students from K-6 as examples for things that I might include in my blog. Basically, I'm looking for sources of inspiration!

You can post them here or start a new thread or let me know by e-mail (ihancock@telusplanet.net).

Thanks
Ian

Hey all, I am new here and am trying to get my blog organized. It will probably change often because that's the type of person I am ;>]

It is about being, teaching, parenting ADD. I am an ESL teacher who has just been diagnosed with Adult ADD. My middle child has ADD. I have several students who have it etc. It is designed to help teachers who don't understand how and why an ADD person thinks and does things. I am trying different perspectives: person affected, parent and teacher. If I can help one child not go through what I did and have a better self-estemm/self-view. I will have accomplished my goal.

http://teachandadd.edublogs.org

my website for ESL (with a link to my blog) is http://www.geocities.com/res4us

Okay, this is the first time I'm actually seeing someone use Vistred Little and I'm not sure if it's brilliant, because it perfectly expresses ADD is a visual form, or just too much. I'm going with, like it. I'm in a similar situation with an autistic son, so I wish you well on this venture (http://mizmercer.edublogs.org/2007/09/08/another-bofo-episode-of-alices-restaurant/). Please keep it up, I'd love to be able to use your blog as a resource for parents and fellow teachers.

p.s. don't take it too hard about what I said about your theme. I used to use Freshy and changed the photo/colors every month or so, so have my own issues about short attention span.

I'm not offended. I love the changing skins/pictures. It is exactly me. don't like static things. I guess that's part of the ADD.

I am very touched that you want to use it as a resource. I hope it will help others understand the inner workings of the ADD mind. Apparently we are different ;>0. Square peg in a round hole and all that...

I loved your webcast and can't wait to share with the teachers at my two schools. One of my schools have self contained classes 'for those who can't cope in the regular classroom' and for 'sever-profound' children. I think this will help all.

Cris

We are Room 29 at Balmoral School in New Zealand. The class blog we run is a discussion place for a whole range of topics - come and stop by for a visit.

Room 29 is a Year 5 and 6 class. The work you will see here is of a quality far above their age group.

Thanks

Class teacher.

Very cool... I believe you almost made the finals for the edublog awards too!

Anyone from Sydney?

First, add your blog(s) descriptions to here. Then perhaps you might stop by Request to Sydney, Australia - http://delciedavis.blogspot.com/2008/01/request-to-sydney-australia.html
