Learnerblogs slow

For about a week or two now, the learnerblogs site has been slow to the point of being debilitating. I'll click on the page and it will go forever, and then I'll get the "This page cannot be displayed" message because it timed out. I need to grade students' work and it's taking me forever . . .

Plus I have a colleague who likes what I've been doing on the blogs and is signing her students up, but she's having lots of trouble and the site has not been reliable. In the past, these kinds of moments lasted only a couple hours, or, at most, a day or two, and then they were back up.

Is this going to be a problem as more teachers in my district use this service? I had hoped to plug the blogs in teacher inservices, etc., but I guess I'd love some reassurance that they'll be a bit more reliable than they've been this month.

Things will get better - promise.

Cheers, James

I've made some changes but they're hard to test (as it's the middle of the night in the US now) - can you let me know how you go.

Only for those laggards. It's early evening in the real frontier.

This week they have been more reliable - I was able to view them and my students were able to use them. Thanks for the help.

I might also add I am excited about the edublogs premium - hopefully my district can hop on board, but if not, I appreciate having what I'd consider a market value to show them when they want to talk about the cost . . . Your cost looks fair though and after the support I've received here, I hope to head that way.

Thanks for the feedback - I'm delighted that the service has improved.

Thanks also re: Edublogs Premium - please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you want to talk about that further (james /at/ edublogs (dot) org). We can do some pretty good discounts / customisations for districts and larger clients.

Cheers, James
