For security reasons we can’t allow edublogs users to copy and paste ‘embed’ and ‘javascript’ code into your blogs… heck, it took myspace down and you’d rather we were were extra safe than not, wouldn’t you!

However, all is not lost as we have a range of plugins and features which still allow you to bling up your blog, embed your slideshows and mashup to your hearts content.

1. Embedding RockYou slideshows

Easypeasy, just take the RockYou URL (for example: http://www.rockyou.com/show_my_gallery.php?source=ppsl&instanceid=81350470) and copy the bit in bold, i.e. ‘81350470′, and then whack it into square brackets like this: rockyou embed

2. Embedding Slideshare Slideshows

This one’s even easier though… just grab a slideshare slide and copy and paste the ‘embed in wordpress.com’ code… now, when are they going to add ‘embed in edublogs.org’ … huh huh ;)

3. Embedding a BubbleShare, um, bubble

Much the same as RockYou – just grab the URL, (for example: http://www.bubbleshare.com/album/134231.d7217dcfdc1/overview#4817635) and copy the bit in bold, i.e. ‘134231.d7217dcfdc1′ into square brackets, like this: bubbleshare.gif

Easy huh!

4. Embedding funky flash stuff

You can also embed all sorts of Flash objects using the ‘F’ button in your text editor – all you need to do is find the URL the embed is pointing to in the embed code, copy it into the pop up box, give it a width and height and you’ll be away!

For example, for a voicethread, you’ll get something like this:

voicethread.gif

Which is taken from embed code that looks like this:
