I haven’t received any e-mail with log in info and notification yet. Is there a bug or just a time wait?
thanks,
Brent
Hmmmm… seems to be working OK for me, are you using hotmail, that usually doesn’t help.
If it doesn’t work in a while then you can either drop me an email and I’ll set a password for you or create another one.
Just to clarify… James, does this mean that you will roll up the bug reports and route them to WPMU, WP 1.6, or wherever as appropriate?
Yep, absolutely… bring ‘em on!
The automatic link ‘Previous entries’ in our blog http://klascement.edublogs.org/page/2/ doesn’t work. Can we do anything to solve the problem, so our visitors can see the very first posts?
Or is it just a problem of the design were using? Thanks!!
Thanks for that,
Looks like a WPMU version error… I’ll see if I can do an upgrade today (fingers very crossed!) and that might fix it…
Wouldn’t hurt if you tried another desigfn and got back tro me on that too though :)
Unfortunately, I tried several other designs, but the link to previous page http://klascement.edublogs.org/page/2/ never works. Error 404 or ‘can’t be found’. Thanks for helping! Is it possible the history of ‘previous pages’ http://klascement.edublogs.org/page/2/ still has to be created (for all blogs)?
E.g. it doesn’t work with http://123.edublogs.org/page/2/ as well.
Thanks for that, let’s hope the upgrade fixes it!
Selecting sth. in “Category parent” doesn’t have any effect when creating a new category. This option only works when editing the new category. Only then it is possible to link a parent to the new category.
Bug is independent of layout or template.
Another one (you’ll begin to think I’m stalking ;-)
In my Firefox extension InfoRSS I already have about 10 RSS feeds. But I can’t add the RSS feeds of the blogs of edublogs.org. I really don’t know why… Normally a right click on the RSS link and “Add URL to the InfoRSS feed list” is all one has to do.
Hans, I’ve been using the Firefox extension for adding live bookmarks (if that’s the same thing as you mention) and the RSS feeds from Edublogs are coming in fine (WI 98 SE).
James, re the introduction of WYSIWYG, it’s really important to test it well before implementing. I was recently using a language site which introduced it prematurely, and it was full of bugs – in fact most moderators told users to turn it off and use plain text.
But I’m looking forward to its introduction, as the use of HTML tags is so … passé?

Will check this out myself with new version…
The buttons (link, etc.) seem to have stopped working on the Write Post screen. This may have something to do with my having checked the “visual edit” box under Options. I have since unchecked it, but the problem remains.
Yep, same problem here. “Visual edit” checked or not, it isn’t possible anymore to create links. I’ve also tried , without success. What’s a blog without links to other sites?? I’m using Firefox 1.0.6, but I’ve alse tried IE6. What to do?
My very temporary and laborious workaround is to generate the html outside WPMU, then paste it in…
Ouch, you’re not wrong! Trying to fix now…
James
we seem to have gained an error from the user table of the databases:
WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'user_id' in 'field list']
SELECT user_id FROM wp_users WHERE user_login = ‘admin’
This affects logins and so on.
Adrian
PS sent an email to you as well about this.
James
another issue – probably arising from the user issue.
clicking on an entry for full text delivers:
Warning: main(/home/edublogs/public_html/wp-inst/wp-includes/template-functions-author.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/edublogs/public_html/wp-inst/wp-settings.php on line 209

noted a problem after using the upgrade – I seem to have gained a lot of extra users in both the blogs I run.
I’ve in fact gained almost 500 (maybe more) users,
If I delete the users from my blogs I am hoping that they are not deleyed from the rest of the site.
Adrian
Thanks for all the work James. You’re doing a pretty nice job! Some minor errors, but I think that’s normal. Keep up the good work!
Since the update I (and readers) noticed that the RSS feeds don’t work anymore:
http://klascement.edublogs.org/feed/
and
http://klascement.edublogs.org/comments/feed/
Can you have a look at it? Thanks!
I just signed up under the user name “caspari” and received an email confirming my user name and supplying a password. The user login says my user name is incorrect. Suggestions?
Hiya All,
Minor disaster rehgarding users… am working on it now, sorry for the bother & thanks for bearing with me.
Cheers, James

There’s now a bugs post on the EduBlogs site blog. We EduBloggers can report bugs there. James will report each bug to the appropriate developers. That’s a great help, since it saves the rest of us trying to work out whether a specific bug…
